Bio
Nobu Kotani was born in
Itami, Japan. He graduated from Sendai University and earned his B.A and
B.S. in Physical Education in 1989. After graduation, he became a
firefighter and an EMT in Itami city. In 1995, He experienced Kobe
Earthquake which was one of the largest earthquakes in Japan. Between in
1996 to 1998. He worked for Kumon institute as a manager in Tokyo. He moved
in the U.S. with his family in 1999. He taught 7th grade special education
at Jefferson Middle School in Indio in 2000-2001. From 2001-2003 Coach
Kotani taught Physical Education, coached varsity swimming, and middle
school basketball at The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks. Coach Kotani
continues to teach Japanese on Saturday’s in Sun Valley.
