ENROLLMENT APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2008/2009 SCHOOL YEAR ARE AVAILABLE BEGINNING JANUARY 22, 2008.  APPLICATIONS MUST BE HAND DELIVERED TO THE CHIME CHARTER MIDDLE SCHOOL OFFICE BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN AND RECEIVED BY AN OFFICE STAFF MEMBER BETWEEN 8:00AM AND 4:00PM ON SCHEDULED SCHOOL DAYS.

ENROLLMENT APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY MARCH 7, 2008 BY 4:00PM FOR THE LOTTERY.

Announcements from the random public drawing held on March 14th, 2008 will be made public on March 28th, 2008.

Due to the overwhelming number of applicants, we are unable to contact every family with lottery results.  Only the families of those students who receive seats will be contacted.  All other applicants should feel free to contact the school to ascertain an individual student's status on the waiting list.

The Classroom

  • Small classes of 28 students. Fully credentialed master teachers. A diverse community of students.
  • The school is a demonstration program and educator development site for CSUN. It uses a collaborative team approach among teachers, parents, and CSUN faculty and students.
  • Technology used in all classrooms.
What kind of instructional methods will be used in the CHIME Charter School?   
Children who attend the CHIME Charter School will experience a curriculum that is based on a constructivist concept that a child is continually taking in new information, testing these new data against what (s)he knows and, based on these new data, reconstructing a changed understanding of the world. Thus, children will be actively involved in learning. They will participate in projects in which they investigate topics, solve problems, and report using written, oral and other modes of communication.
